Job summary

ACR (AmerCareRoyal) in Westfield, MA seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment. You will dismantle, move, and install machinery while upholding safety and housekeeping standards.

Reporting to the shift supervisor, you’ll read blueprints, set up lathes and mills, perform preventative checks, and coordinate with operations on changeovers. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mill machines, and machine shop equipment.
• Able to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Able to read and write; understand policies, MOs, JHAs, and other work instructions. Basic math and computer skills.
• Preferred knowledge and certification in electrical and wiring with an E2 license. Experience troubleshooting PLCs and electrical controls.
• Knowledge of fabrication and blueprinting skills is a plus, with experience in part creation for machine maintenance.
• Able to effectively communicate for collaboration of work and delivery of supplies to and from machine as needed.
• Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity; able to lift 45+ pounds.

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on various types of production equipment. Dismantling, moving, and installing machinery as required. Compliance with company operating, safety and housekeeping procedures, practices, and policies.

This position reports to the 3rd Shift, which operates Sunday through Thursday from 11:00pm to 7:00am.

How you will make an impact in this role:

• Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to make sure equipment maintains maximum production and quality standards. Notifies maintenance department manager and operations supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
• Preforms Scheduled Maintenance and reviews production schedule. When equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, performs scheduled maintenance. Assists operations team with change overs, when necessary.
• Tests equipment to check operation. Clears jams and sets aside product for inspection and rework. Prove out equipment function after repairs, change overs or extended downtime.
• Makes preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action. Examines defects and analyzes spoilage cases and where possible, takes corrective action. Analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily production report.
• Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operate lathes, milling machine, grinders, saws, and presses. Plans setup and operates typical machine tools, producing parts to close tolerances and company specifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Range:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour, consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position. ACR reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. What you'll need to be successful in this role:

• Able to read and write; able to understand policies, manufacturing orders (MOs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and other work instructions. Basic math and computer skills.
• Preferred knowledge and certification in electrical and wiring with an E2 license. Experience troubleshooting PLCs and electrical controls.
• Knowledge of fabrication and blueprinting skills is a plus, with experience in part creation for machine maintenance.
• Able to effectively communicate for collaboration of work and delivery of supplies to and from machine as needed.
• Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity. Must be able to work standing or walking most of the workday and able to frequently lift 45+ pounds. Able to work with sharp tools and wear hearing protection as required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Must be comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Must be able to pull, push, lift, move, and adjust products up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to engage in periods of long standing, walking, and consistent lifting
• Hearing protection and steel toed shoes are required
• Safety, hygiene and cleanliness is strictly enforced

Summary

Compensation Range:

$25.00 - $35.00 hourly with an additional 5% annual bonus target.
