Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring a 3rd shift Maintenance Mechanic for the Trenton, NJ facility. The role runs 10:00pm–6:00am on-site, performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production equipment to ensure continuous operations.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, read blueprints and schematics, and maintain inventories. OT may be required to keep equipment running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Journeyman license preferred or equivalent experience performing complex mechanical work in industrial maintenance.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

• Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines.
• Proficient in mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems repair.
• Locates sources of problems by observation and testing.
• Removes defective parts and replaces them as needed.
• Reads blueprints for installation and maintenance.
• Maintains inventories and orders parts and supplies.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment.

Trane is hiring for a 3rd shift Maintenance Mechanic in Trenton, NJ! Expected shift hours: 10:00pm-6:00am.

What you will do:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Proficient in mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems repair.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment such as but not limited to vertical milling machine, drill press, Lathe and welding.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to read blueprint, layout, install and maintain various equipment.

• Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.

What you will bring:

• Journeyman License/Certification preferred; or equivalent years’ experience performing complex mechanical work in industrial maintenance
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $34.90
