Job summary

sstjobs is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a 24/7 Madison, WI operation. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshoot issues, complete preventative maintenance, and respond to emergencies to minimize downtime.

The role requires three-phase electrical experience, the ability to read schematics, and forklift operation. Occasional overtime and shift flexibility are required to support continuous production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Electrical maintenance apprenticeship or technical training completed.
• Experience with three-phase electrical systems in manufacturing.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Forklift operation capability; training provided if needed.
• Ability to stand, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work overtime and adjust hours per production needs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in three-phase power systems and motor controls.
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain gaskets and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot conveyors, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
• Read electrical schematics and blueprints; follow safety procedures.
• Access elevated equipment safely and maintain records and inventory.
• Coordinate maintenance with production and engineering teams.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and repairs to minimize downtime.
