Overview
Provides care and maintenance to the building and its equipment. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and troubleshoots production equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensures that the building and its equipment are operational and provide a safe working environment to meet the company goals and objectives. Responds to equipment issues, analyzes issues, and takes corrective action to eliminate issues and restore equipment to normal operation.
- Performs assigned preventative maintenance on various production equipment.
- Maintains spare parts for production equipment and supplies for custodial departments using the CMMS database. Maintains accurate inventory counts and communicates ways to keep costs and inventory levels optimal.
- Provides timely and accurate documentation of work completed using the CMMS system, following department guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong data entry skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Mechanical background working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Understanding of basic mechanical theory and operation of mechanical equipment, e.g., material handling equipment.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and power tools.
- Ability to work safely and be aware of potential hazards.
- Self-motivated with excellent follow-through and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Detail-oriented, able to prioritize work safely.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs. and work at heights.
Education & Experience
- At least 1 year of maintenance experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
- At least 1 year of data entry and computer skills experience.
Vocational or technical training is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Able to work at heights up to 60 feet, including on catwalks, lifts, ladders, and stairs.
- Wearing hard hats, fall arrest harnesses, and ear protection as required.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
- No allergies or sensitivities to chemicals, petroleum, or fumes.
- Ability to work around magnetic equipment.
- Physical activities include listening, talking, standing, sitting, walking.
- No long hair or beards, or hair tied back.
- Wrist and arm movements for using wrenches and tools.
- Awareness of fabrics sensitivity related to PPE.
