Job description

Position: Maintenance Mechanic I
Location: Stockton, CA
Wage: $25.63 - $37.17 (depends on experience)
Shift: 2nd - 3:30 PM - 2 AM, Monday - Thursday
$0.40 shift premium; overtime may be required

Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment as required by production needs.
• Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment under the guidance of the Plant Engineer.
• Assist and train other maintenance personnel with repairs, preventive maintenance, and rebuilds.
• Collaborate with other departments to proactively resolve issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Manage small projects to upgrade or maintain equipment.
• Support Sonoco's quality and safety policies in all duties.

Qualifications:

• Experience in an industrial or military environment troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, and motor controls.
• Ability to work with mechanical lifts, ladders, and perform physical tasks up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and be flexible with rotating shifts, including overtime and weekends.
