Maintenance Mechanic

Evendale Bakery - Cincinnati, Ohio

Non-exempt Position – Full Time

2nd Shift – 1pm to 9pm Monday through Thursday (Friday if OT); 6am to 2pm Friday (Saturday if OT)

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs production equipment daily, including all other plant areas to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Responsibilities include maintaining refrigeration systems, general upkeep of the building and outside premises, and inventory control of parts & supplies. The role requires adherence to company core values and safety procedures, with duties assigned by management as needed.

What We Are Looking For
  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of general maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience/education in refrigeration, electrical, programmable controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, fabrication, carpentry, plumbing, and pipefitting
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Knowledge of safe lifting procedures and safety protocols
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and decision-making ability
  • Proficiency with shop tools, electrical troubleshooting, and machinery repair
  • Ability to learn new equipment and suggest modifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of lean processes and continuous improvement
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to complete on-the-job training
What You Will Do
  • Maintain and repair production, refrigeration, HVAC, and other equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Maintain the maintenance shop and inventory
  • Follow safety protocols and participate in training
  • Provide technical support and training to team members
Physical Requirements
  • Work in environments with flour dust, heat, and cold
  • Lift up to 70 pounds occasionally
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and climbing
  • Wear safety gear as required
  • Perform visual and auditory inspections
