Job summary

Catania Oils, a fourth-generation, family-owned business with 125 years of excellence in the edible oils industry, is looking for a passionate and driven Maintenance Mechanic to join our second shift team in Ayer, MA.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and support operational efficiency while following safety protocols and GMPs.

Qualifications

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain accurate repair logs and assist with inventory tracking.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Follow all safety protocols, GMPs, and SOPs.
• Use basic PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley RS Logix 500).
• Perform basic welding (Stick, MIG, TIG) and electrical diagnostics (24V–480V).

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Requirements

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Degree or certification in a technical trade or maintenance-related field
• Minimum 3 years of related experience (required)
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in physically demanding environments (bending, climbing, crawling)
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment
• Willingness to work in hot/cold conditions and confined spaces

Tools & Equipment You’ll Use

• Welders, torches, saws, grinders, drills, rigging equipment
• Forklifts, man lifts, ladders, scaffolding
• Automated systems: palletizers, conveyors, fillers, cappers, coders, pumps, gearboxes
