Job summary

Catania Oils, a fourth-generation, family-owned business with 125 years of excellence in the edible oils industry, is seeking a 1st Shift Machine Operator in Ayer, MA. This role involves operating and overhauling production line equipment, reading work orders, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in manufacturing, solid mechanical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience (food industry a plus).
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and multitasking skills.
• Basic computer proficiency required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• English fluency (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and GMPs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and change over production line equipment (filler, capper, labeler, case packer, palletizer, etc.).
• Read work orders and verify supplies (bottles, caps, labels, etc.).
• Monitor production rates and equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Perform quality checks and maintain accurate documentation.
• Keep your area clean and safe throughout the shift.
