Immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic in Torrance, CA who possesses:

  • Maintenance Experience - 3+ yrs. (Pharma/Regulated Environment or Military Experience)
  • Mechanical & Troubleshooting of production equipment (motors/pumps/facility)
  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift (3pm - 11:30pm)

FULL DESCRIPTION: The Maintenance Mechanic ensures compliance with GMP standards by maintaining equipment such as motors, pumps and the facility in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintain and repair production equipment, including pneumatic pumps and motors, vacuum pumps, compressors, solvent lines, water lines, air lines, reactor vessels, and HVAC systems.
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance of production, support areas, and general facility in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Handle requests from production and other departments, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Transfer solvents to use locations safely and efficiently. 5. Update inventories and other supplies as needed to support maintenance operations.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, demonstrating knowledge of occupational hazards and required precautions.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance reports, ensuring compliance with SOPs and cGMPs.
  • Deal tactfully, professionally, and courteously with fellow employees and external vendors/contractors.
  • Perform general clean-up and maintenance tasks as required.
  • Take necessary safety precautions to ensure the secure performance of assigned duties.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The selected candidate will also possess:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Education: Technical Certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is
  • Experience: [e.g., Minimum 3 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a regulated environment; peptide manufacturing experience .]
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with production equipment, pumps, motors, HVAC systems, and facility maintenance.
  • Familiarity with cGMPs, SOPs, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple work orders efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including production areas with chemicals and solvents.

Salary Range: $28-$30.25/hr
