Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic 2 performs maintenance and repairs in areas such as electrical systems and nurse call systems. The role requires knowledge of procedures and safety measures in the area of specialty. Work is guided by established protocols, some experience, and judgment, under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance & Repair: Ensure equipment is inspected for proper operation, with routine records maintained. Complete 95% of all PM Work Orders on time. Diagnose malfunctions and maintain equipment logs.
• Building Rounds: Conduct daily rounds to ensure proper operation of building systems, making adjustments as needed for temperature and pressure control.
• HVAC Repairs: Repair heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, including fans, motors, thermostats, dampers, and controls. Replace filters and fluids as necessary.
• Plumbing: Repair and alter steam, gas, water, air, and sanitary plumbing fixtures and pipes.
• Manual Tasks: Move supplies and furniture, remove trash and scrap, replace tools and light bulbs, ensuring proper procedures.
• Supply Movement: Move supplies and equipment without interrupting scheduled events.
• Productivity: Address problems within 24 hours when possible. Complete Preventative Maintenance programs to minimize downtime. Evaluate and prioritize unscheduled requests, completing them within 36 hours.
• Other Duties: Perform assigned tasks, respond appropriately to safety, fire, and disaster situations.
