Job summary

GOJO Industries in Wooster, OH is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, optimizing and conducting preventative maintenance for site facilities, utilities and production equipment.

You will inspect and test machinery using electrical test equipment, diagnose issues, dismantle and repair components, maintain electrical and hydraulic systems, install pipes and gauges, and ensure safe handling of hazardous wastes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, optimize and conduct preventative maintenance for site facilities, utilities and production equipment.
• Visually inspect and test machinery using electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Diagnose problems by listening to equipment, discussing operation with staff, and repairing components as needed.
• Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts per specifications.
• Maintain electrical systems, piping, gauges, valves and related equipment.
• Maintain and repair physical structures and grounds; may install equipment per blueprints.
• Follow safety procedures, manage hazardous waste properly.

Shift: Shift 1 GOJO

Role Type: 100% Onsite

Role Objective

This role is accountable to troubleshoot, repair, install, optimize and conduct preventative maintenance for site facilities, utilities and production equipment

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in any GOJO facility, following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring and testing instruments
• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
• Repairs and maintains physical structures and grounds
• May install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications
• May install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
• May set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
• May operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
• May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures
• Familiar with emergency procedures and equipment necessary to safely and effectively respond to an emergency involving hazardous waste
• Assures hazardous wastes, universal wastes and used oil are placed in the appropriate container that is properly labeled, is in good condition and is closed.

Education and Experience

High school graduate or GED.

5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience
