Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Indianapolis is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep warehouse equipment and conveyors running smoothly. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and perform preventative maintenance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, hands-on experience, reading schematics, and a commitment to safety. The shift is 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed at the Indy North location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanics is a plus.
• Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems such as conveyors and components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
• Respond swiftly to maintenance requests from team members and management.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems - such as, conveyor systems and components, Shanklin wrappers, pallet stretch wrappers
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, stoop, bend, and twist throughout an 8 to 10 hours shift.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment (if it's hot out, it's hot inside...)

Pay, Shift, & Location

• Pay: ranges from $24.50/hr to $27.00/hr depending on prior experience
• Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday - Friday, with mandatory overtime as needed.
