Job summary

Hayward Industries in North Kingstown, RI seeks an experienced maintenance technician to install and maintain all machines used in manufacturing. You will perform TPM-based maintenance, read electrical schematics, and assist engineers with line setup and equipment layout.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints; understand electrical schematics.
• Experience with maintenance on production equipment using TPM practices.
• Proficiency in applying plumbing, carpentry and power tools in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with machine repair and layout of lines.

Responsibilities

• Repair existing machines and support equipment to keep production running.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines per TPM practices.
• Order replacement parts and ensure level 1 parts are in stock.
• Assist engineers with setup, modification and disassembly of lines.
• Support lines with supervision to maintain full capability.
• Assist in design and creation of custom equipment and fixtures.
• Record maintenance work and costs; maintain standard work.
• Read electrical schematics for troubleshooting equipment.
• Assist in layout, building and maintaining assembly lines and cells.
• Identify and implement new equipment; repair production equipment as needed.

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island, Georgia, as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China.Position Overview: Provide the necessary skills to install and maintain all machines and equipment used in the manufacturing areas in optimal working order.Major Tasks and Responsibilities:· Repairs existing machines and support equipment as needed to keep production running· Performs routine maintenance on machines based on TPM practices· Orders replacement parts for all machines as needed and ensures level 1 parts are in stock for immediate needs· Assists the manufacturing engineers with setting up, modifying and disassembly of production lines· Supports all lines as requested by line leaders, supervisors or managers to keep the lines running at full capability· Assist with the design and creation of custom equipment and assembly fixtures· Provides support to the facilities manager when requested· Records all maintenance and repair work performed and the associated costs· Assist with the creation and maintenance of standard work· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for trouble shooting equipment· Assist in layout, building and maintaining assembly lines and assembly cells· Assist in identifying and implementing new equipment· Assist in repair on production equipment as neededQualifications:· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals· Ability to read and interpret blueprints is critical· Ability to operate a forklift· Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and power tools· Electrical/electronic knowledge; hands-on experience on various assembly lines· Machine shop experience· Proficient in Solid Works, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite Education and Experience:· Associates degree preferably from a technical school with a minimum four years related experiencePhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk. The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
