Description

Overview: This position has the primary responsibility of having a strong knowledge of mechanical systems and processes for ensuring the preventative maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled repairs of equipment on the production line and supporting systems including but not limited to conveyor systems, hydraulics, and PLCs while including troubleshooting and improving operations.

We are looking for 2nd and 3rd shift maintenance Mechanics to work on our beverage lines.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  1. Keeping the line running: Perform routine maintenance and quick repairs on high-tech equipment across all beverage lines, including sodas, teas, juices, and energy drinks.
  2. Troubleshoot like a pro: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to prevent downtime and keep production moving.
  3. Efficiency booster: Help streamline processes and maintain top performance standards to maximize output.
  4. Safety first: Uphold strict safety and compliance measures to ensure the workplace is always safe for everyone.
  5. Teamwork: Work alongside a dynamic crew to troubleshoot issues and keep everything humming along smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for enforcing and following safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP’s), Federal, State, and Local regulations, and adherence to job specifications.
  2. Ensure proper PPE is utilized, as well as forklift compliance is adhered to.
  3. Ensure equipment is performing as designed and provide high-level work in a craftsmanship manner.
  4. Adhere to the code blue standard.
  5. Consistently developing work orders and PMs and contributing to support continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives to reduce expenses and improve the overall operation.
  6. Responsible to assist and train in standard changeovers, general maintenance, and inspecting the production line for proper setup to ensure everything is set up correctly (processing system, detectors, injectors, coders, etc.).
  7. Troubleshoot, service, and repair facility and production equipment correctly and in a timely manner.
  8. Assist Line Leads with any issues that may arise.
  9. Monitor and maintain equipment for proper operation and report issues to Maintenance Manager.
  10. Complete all necessary documentation.
  11. Completes work orders according to maintenance schedule.
  12. Troubleshoot packaging, conveying, and process equipment.
  13. Collaborates with other departments and communicates requirements, opportunity areas, the status of work orders, and results.
  14. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Proven experience with industrial machinery maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairs.
  2. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and the ability to work across diverse equipment types.
  3. Quick-thinking and strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues under pressure.
  4. A team-first attitude, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to getting the job done.
  5. A passion for keeping things running smoothly and the ability to adapt to new challenges.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. 5 years’ previous maintenance machine repair experience required; with experience in Food and Beverage industry or Journeyman, Apprentice Certification preferred.
  3. Basic electrical circuitry knowledge.
  4. Required to fully comply with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements.
  5. Ability to understand and follow blueprints manufacturers documentation and manuals.
  6. Experience using CMMS programs.
  7. Ability to weld (TIG/MIG) and fabricate.
  8. Must be able to work overtime as needed including change at the start and end of shift times and weekends (including the last week of the calendar year to perform maintenance on production lines).
  9. Required to be forklift certified by Krier Foods, Inc. before operating any company-owned forklift.
  10. Possess strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and strong problem-solving skills.
  11. Strong mechanical aptitude for pumps, gearboxes, and equipment systems.
  12. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, work independently, cultivate a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and teamwork.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, kneeling, and climbing) approximately 85% of the day and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  2. Required to have close visual acuity to perform any activity such as transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measuring devices, and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  3. Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.
