Job summary

Oliver Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing team on the 1st shift.

This hands-on role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing presses and other equipment, and coordinating with supervisors to resolve performance issues. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment, strong knowledge of mechanical systems, and hands-on machining, welding, and fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment maintenance.
• Hands-on experience repairing and rebuilding industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with machining, welding, and fabrication.
• Ability to operate a lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, and drill press.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; electrical work certifications.
• Previous supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, diagrams, manuals and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair presses and other manufacturing equipment.
• Work with supervisors and production crews to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repair solution.
• Rebuild machines, equipment, and components as needed.
• Research and implement equipment modifications and improvements to increase reliability and reduce equipment failures.
• Communicate with equipment manufacturers and vendors regarding equipment failures, replacement parts, and recommended repairs or improvements.
• Determine whether repairs should be completed in-house or outsourced.
• Maintain an inventory of mechanical parts and identify suppliers based on availability, quality, and cost.
• Design, machine, weld, and fabricate parts and components for manufacturing equipment.
• Perform various types of welding.
• Operate a lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, and other machine shop equipment.
• Assist with general facility maintenance as needed, including carpentry and other maintenance-related tasks.
• Respond to equipment issues and emergencies during assigned shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
