Job summary

The Donohoe Companies, Inc. is hiring a Building Maintenance Mechanic in Washington, DC to join a large facility. The role focuses on HVAC maintenance and general upkeep; AC work is required. A license is not required but HVAC experience is essential.

Hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation ranges from $33 to $40 per hour, depending on experience and license; EOE statements apply.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience operating, maintaining commercial buildings within the last five years.
• Strong HVAC experience is required for the role.
• Excellent customer service and reliable transportation are expected.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• EPA Universal 608 (CFC) license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and equipment.
• Carry out preventive and general maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain equipment to industry standards and diagnose HVAC, plumbing and electrical issues.
• Support sub-contractors for installation and repairs as needed.
• Interface with building manager and customer representatives to ensure satisfaction.
• Document work performed on tickets and work orders; prepare reports.

Responsibilities

Donohoe Companies is hiring a Building Maintenance Mechanic to join a large facility in Washington. We are looking for a maintenance technician with strong HVAC experience who is able to work on AC unit as necessary. Daily responsibilities will include general maintenance in addition to HVAC responsibilities. License is not required but experience with AC equipment is a must.

Hours for this position: 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Salary: $33-$40 per hour depending on experience/license.

Major Duties

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment.
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain equipment to industry standards.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing and electrical problems as required and/or as assigned by supervisor.
• Provide assistance and support to sub-contractors designated to perform installation and/or repair of equipment and/or hardware as required.
• Interface with building manager and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction.
• Complete daily, weekly and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by supervisor.
• Run wiring, cabling, and ductwork, and mount equipment according to specifications as directed.
• Place or remove systems and equipment as directed.
• Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion.
• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports of system status and work completed.
• Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed.
• Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment in order to prevent breakdowns and/or outages.
• Must be able to pass background check.
• Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience operating, maintaining commercial buildings in the last 5 years
• Requires reliable transportation
• Strong HVAC experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Hands on equipment experience including, but not limited to: changing filters, grease bearings, repairing flush valves, stop valves, change ballast/light bulbs
• Excellent customer service skills
• EPA Universal 608 (CFC) license
