WMhealth is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician in New York. The role involves repairing, maintaining, and constructing equipment, as well as plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will operate machine tools, fit and assemble parts, maintain locking devices, and manage inventory. Strong initiative for safety and ability to coordinate projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of building maintenance experience required.
• Hospital maintenance experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Sets up and operates machine tools and fits and assembles parts.
• Repairs, installs, replaces and maintains locking devices.

• Lays out jobs with rough plans and sketches as needed.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and inventory records.
• Coordinates special projects and responds to 24-hour emergency maintenance as scheduled.

Responsibilities:

• Repairs, maintains, and constructs a variety of equipment in an establishment, ensuring that work meets needs.
• Repairs, maintains, assembles, and installs a variety of pipes, fittings and fixtures of plumbing and heating systems to ensure that it functions correctly and efficiently.
• Sets up and operates machine tools and fits and assembles parts to make or repair metal parts, mechanisms, tools machines, etc.
• Repairs, installs, replaces and maintains locking devices, ensuring that equipment functions correctly and efficiently.
• Repairs, maintains, replaces and installs motors, machine parts, etc., using brazing and welding equipment to ensure that equipment functions correctly and efficiently.
• Lays out jobs, making up rough plans and sketches when needed.
• Repairs, replaces, and maintains a variety of mechanical systems and devices to ensure that they function correctly and efficiently.
• Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
• Requisitions items, supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
• Recommends new equipment and methods to improve work performance.
• Coordinates special projects as directed by Engineering/ Facilities Supervisor and is available for 24-hour emergency maintenance services as scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
