Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep the hospital environment safe, attractive, and functional through routine and emergency maintenance. You will perform rounds, respond to repair calls, and assist other mechanics to maintain compliance.

Required: 3 years in general maintenance (healthcare preferred) and a High School Diploma. Strong communication, plumbing, electrical, and blueprint skills are essential.

Job description

To assure a safe, attractive, functional Hospital environment through the performance of all types of routine, emergency or preventative maintenance.

Is responsible for making rounds of the entire facility correcting any and all problems by adjusting, lubricating, calibrating, repairing, touching up, etc. Answer all repair calls and assist other mechanics as required. Respond to all emergencies (smoke, water, electrical, etc.) and or any other duties as directed to maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Has a god working knowledge of how to reach blueprints.
• Has good basic plumbing skills.
• Has good basic electrical skills.
• Knows how to operate all equipment essential to the job that is being performed.
• Responds appropriately to all emergencies.
• Ability to repair beds and stretchers.
• Able to handle multiple calls for repairs.
• Restocks parts to have most commonly used on hand.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.
