Job description

Maintenance Mechanic

This position will be responsible for improving the overall operating functions of manufacturing machines to achieve desired goals. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance programs, machine upgrades to enhance efficiency for difficult production orders, diagnostic/troubleshooting to resolve downtime and quality issues, and overall machine efficiency improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• Improve machinery efficiency and reliability through established PM programs.
• Support the production team by ensuring the maintenance team is productive and proactive.
• Ensure adherence to inventory control systems among mechanics and personnel.
• Maintain general housekeeping of maintenance areas.
• Assist engineering with major projects and machine overhauls.
• Support safety programs, practice Lockout/Tagout policies, and ensure safety devices are operational.
• Handle after-hours emergency calls for machine breakdowns.
• Observe and comply with all good working practices.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and direct team members.
• Strong analytical and advanced electrical/mechanical problem-solving skills; capable of providing technical guidance.
• Experience with machine modifications and rebuilds.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Attention to detail and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Flexible schedule, including working other shifts, overtime, and weekends.
• Basic computer skills.
• Understanding of PLCs and ladder logic.

Starting at $18/hr, with higher pay depending on experience.
