Job summary

Associated Feed & Supply is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment across the mill operation. You will aim to minimize downtime by identifying mechanical and electrical issues and performing preventive maintenance.

The role requires reading manuals and following work orders to ensure safe, reliable operation. The position is full-time, on-site in a heavy industrial setting, with a focus on hands-on fabrication, electrical work, hydraulics and pneumatics,

Qualifications

• College coursework in technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in feed mill or industrial setting.
• MS Office – Excel, Word.

• Salary Range: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Complex Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for trouble shooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment throughout the mill operation. This individual will also be responsible for minimizing down time by detecting potential mechanical and electrical problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Must have good analytical skills, able to troubleshoot and make on the spot corrections to emergency conditions
• Able to climb stairs and ladders and stairs and work safely at elevated heights of 200ft. and Confined Space
• Knowledge of fabrication, electrical schematics, engineering drawings, power transmission, and pneumatics, welding and cutting are necessary.
• Light Industrial Electric required, Hydraulics, Power Transmissions, and Pneumatic; basic computer knowledge; previous feed mill exp desired.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform related duties and/or special projects as assigned

Equipment Manual comprehension: Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance, service, or operation.
Follow Instructions: Reads instructions / labels and performs work as assigned by department supervisor or lead.

Experience and Training Guidelines:

• College coursework in technical field desired
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in feed mill maintenance, industrial, or a production environment.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully

Working conditions

• Work is performed in a typical outdoor environment subject to street or field noise and environment including exposure to loud equipment and machinery. Some duties involve working in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and environment. Position may require work outside regular business hours, including weekends, holidays and occasional travel to other company locations.
