Job summary

Lancaster Central School District is seeking a JOURNEYMAN-level trades professional to perform skilled work in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of buildings, equipment and systems across the district. A strong skilled-trades background is required and district residency is preferred.

Position Overview

Performs skilled work in one or more building or service trades at a JOURNEYMAN level in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of buildings, equipment and building systems throughout the District. The position requires a strong skilled-trades background.

• School district residency preferred
• Will be required to obtain and maintain an asbestos handling certificate

Qualifications and Experience

• High school graduate and three (3) years experience in commercial or institutional facilities maintenance or service trades; or seven (7) years experience in commercial or institutional facilities maintenance or service trades; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possession of a valid Class D NYS driver's license at time of appointment.
• Seeking skilled trade professionals with substantial, hands-on, applied trade work experience in one or more skilled building or service trades, with preference to a background in commercial or institutional HVAC, heating, and boiler systems is highly preferred.
• Experience with commercial or institutional HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing and piping systems, pumps, motors, electrical systems, building controls and related mechanical equipment and building systems is highly desirable.
• Applicants should be capable of reading blueprints and schematics and have demonstrated experience troubleshooting equipment and building-system failures within a commercial or institutional facility.
• Applicants must provide proof of the above qualifications with their application.
