Job summary

Johnson's Nursery, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep trucks, trailers, and nursery equipment in safe, reliable condition year-round. The role supports daily logistics and seasonal production by minimizing downtime and keeping fleet operational.

The position can be shared between Jackson and Menomonee Falls, WI locations, typically 8–10 hour days with occasional early starts or longer days as needed. Welding, CDL, and mechanical troubleshooting may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in an industrial mechanic environment.
• Class A CDL to assist in moving trucks and stock between locations.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outside in any weather.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair trucks, trailers, and nursery equipment to minimize downtime.
• Support daily logistics and seasonal production by keeping fleet operating.
• Work between Jackson and Menomonee Falls, WI locations.
• Handle early starts and longer days as needed.
• Assist in higher-level mechanical repairs and work with Head Mechanic.

Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs trucks, trailers, and nursery equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation year-round. This hands-on role supports daily logistics and seasonal production by minimizing downtime and keeping fleet and equipment operating at peak performance.

• This position can share time between our various locations in Jackson or Menomonee Falls, WI.
• Ability to work 8-10 hours a day.
• Ability to start early on some days and stay late on others when needed.

Qualifications

The successful applicant:

• Greasing.
• Identifying problems or possible future problems.
• Take direction from the Supervisor and complete general mechanical projects within a reasonable time.
• Assist in higher-level mechanical repairs and work directly with the Head Mechanic.

Pluses, but not required.

• Ability to weld or fabricate.

• Willing to learn and grow within our full-service shop.
• Insurable driver's license (through our provider).

Benefits & Compensation

$20.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Communicates and coordinates with Landscape Designers and customers. Lead residential and commercial landscape projects.

Work directly with new and existing customers for all inquiries, including quotes, orders, recommendations, and expert advice.

Assist the Landscape Foreperson to install plants for residential and commercial landscape projects.
