Job Description

The GMP Asset Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that GMP production assets are evaluated prior to purchase, qualified, documented, maintained, commissioned, and properly decommissioned and stored for future use. Responsibilities include reviewing equipment and room design, executing qualification and maintenance activities, troubleshooting failures, implementing corrective and preventative actions, and developing maintenance plans, tasks, procedures, and schedules. The role also involves procuring spare parts and consumables, supervising external contractors, and documenting activities.

• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on GMP assets, ensuring proper documentation.
• Troubleshoot equipment and system failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventative measures.
• Manage and maintain equipment tooling, tracking, and availability.
• Coordinate equipment relocations, ensuring no damage and full functionality before use.
• Support installation of new equipment, including FAT, SAT, qualification protocols, and maintenance planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to schedule, perform, and document tasks related to GMP assets.
• Develop task lists and maintenance plans based on experience, manuals, and manufacturer support.
• Create and review work orders, permits, change controls, SOPs, and specifications.
• Train personnel on equipment maintenance, setup, operation, and SOP adherence.
• Follow safety guidelines and participate in safety meetings.
• Contribute to budget forecasting and expense management.
• Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and provide emergency support as needed.
• Adhere to safety and sustainability standards, reporting issues promptly.
• Stop work if safety concerns arise.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience required.
