Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings across trades including painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry. Duties include replacing motors, patching walls, repairing fixtures, painting, and maintaining floors and doors.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma, five years of maintenance experience, ability to read/write competently, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years of general maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• MS Office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Replace motors as needed.
• Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings with plaster or compound.
• Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Paint structures and equipment as required.
• Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hang doors and install door locks.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic I performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work.

Work can involve, but is not limited to, a variety of the following duties:

• replacing motors
• using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling
• repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
• painting structures and equipment
• repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
• replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
• hanging doors and installing door locks
• performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Level I: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of general maintenance experience required.
• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
