Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I in Springfield, VA. The role involves general maintenance and repair across multiple trades, including painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry.

The candidate will replace motors, patch walls, repair plumbing fixtures, and perform related tasks to keep facilities and equipment in good condition. Required are a High School diploma and at least five years of maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of general maintenance experience.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings across trades (painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry).
• Replace motors, patch holes, repair sinks and toilets, and paint structures and equipment.
• Repair concrete floors and doors, install locks, and maintain machinery.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

Amentum is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic I to join our team in Springfield, VA! The Maintenance Mechanic I performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work. Work can involve, but is not limited to, a variety of the following duties:

• Replacing motors.
• Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling.
• Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
• Painting structures and equipment.
• Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
• Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles.
• Hanging doors and installing door locks.
• And performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Experience and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Minimum of five years of general maintenance experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
• Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtainand maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
