Job summary

Sunny Delight Beverages Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic at our Dayton, NJ facility. The role focuses on setting up, repairing, and installing production equipment to ensure continuous operations.

You will troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on fillers, conveyors, drives, and other line components, and assist with changeovers as needed. We require a high school diploma (Technical School preferred) and 2+ years of line mechanics experience in a fast-paced environment,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical School preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a line mechanic in a high-speed production environment; food manufacturing/bottling preferred.
• Must be self-motivated with urgency and able to work with limited supervision.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and TPM principles preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical diagrams and use machine shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Work overtime as required.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) in a timely manner.
• Maintain a professional manner and teamwork orientation.
• Pass drug screen and fit-for-duty exam.

Maintenance Mechanic

SN - Technical Services Full Time Dayton, NJ, US

Salary Range: $32.00 To $34.00 Hourly

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for setting up repairs, rebuilding and installing production equipment to insure continuous production of all products. Repairs malfunctioning production equipment; i.e., fillers, conveyors, drives, coolers, palletizing and boxing components. Installs new equipment or replaces equipment as required and sets up line for product changeovers as required. The maintenance Mechanic's is to be the primary technical leader on the shift responsible for all planned maintenance, trouble‑shooting, and reducing downtime due to equipment failure. Assists with the training of operators to recognize and report potential equipment malfunctions and failures as well as to ensure knowledge and assist with preventive maintenance.

The role requires a person that can analyze mechanical and operational problems and initiate plans for corrective action. Make necessary corrective repairs and running adjustments to maintain maximum production, safety and quality with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment such as mechanical drives, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and conveyors. Machining and fabrication skills are necessary. Previous experience with TPM or Lean Manufacturing a plus. Working knowledge of computers required.

Shifts we are currently looking to fill:

• 12-hour night shift (6:30pm- 7am) on a 2-2-3 schedule
• 12- hour day shift (6:30am-7pm) on a 2-2-3 schedule

Salary: $32-$34

Physical Requirements

• Stand on hard surfaces such as concrete for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 60 pounds
• Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, and other structures on equipment or buildings to inspect, operate, maintain, or troubleshoot
• Bend at the knees, twist the back, and kneel as needed to access equipment for operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures and humidity levels
• Function effectively in areas of high noise while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
