Job summary

Cascades in Rochester is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep machinery, electrical and plumbing systems running safely on the factory floor. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and coordinate with vendors as needed.

We require 1–2 years maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and your own tools. The role is full-time with 1st shift 7am–3:30pm, benefits include insurance, retirement plan, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of maintenance experience in construction, commercial, or industrial settings.
• Proficiency with maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Must be able to climb, kneel, crouch and work above shoulder height.

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety standards.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical or plumbing issues.
• Ensure calibration of instruments for accuracy and precision.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance requests and work orders.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe workplace.
• Assist on training team members on basic maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.

What you’ll do

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape. Your day-to-day:

• Follow health and safety standards.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems to identify and address issues/repairs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical or plumbing problems in equipment, machinery, and facilities.
• Ensure that equipment and instruments are calibrated correctly to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance requests and work orders.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Assist supervisor/leads on training team members/employees on basic functioning/preventative maintenance measures.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks when necessary.

Your strengths as a Maintenance Mechanic

You are a natural fit for this role if:

• 1-2 years of construction, commercial, or industrial maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong communications skills.
• Ability to climb, kneel, crouch and work above the shoulders.
• High school diploma.
• Experience with forklift or truck maintenance ideal but not required.
• Must have own tools
