RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the RWJ Rahway facility to perform hands-on maintenance ensuring safe, compliant, and functional environments for patients and staff. The role emphasizes problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork within the Facilities Mgt Infrastructure department.

You will inspect, repair, and maintain building systems, coordinate with contractors, and ensure life safety standards are met while supporting a healing environment in the Rahway

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school equivalent required.
• Minimum three years of experience in hospital or industrial maintenance or construction.
• Valid New Jersey Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled compliance inspections and complete repairs throughout the facility.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to keep building systems safe and operational.
• Respond to patient-related concerns and maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Inspect the environment of care and identify safety hazards before issues arise.
• Support life safety initiatives, including fire boundary inspections and firefighting equipment maintenance.
• Document tasks and track completed work using work request systems.
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors to ensure safe completion.
