RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic General at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. This day shift, full-time role supports Facilities Mgt Infrastructure and requires a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant maintenance experience.

The position offers a competitive hourly pay range and a benefits package; driving license is preferred. Work hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with duties focused on keeping facilities safe and compliant

• Support life safety initiatives and preventative maintenance of firefighting equipment.
• Document tasks and track work using the work request system.
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors to ensure safe, compliant work.

As a Maintenance Mechanic General, a typical day might include the following:

• Performing scheduled compliance inspections and completing repairs as needed throughout the facility.
• Conducting preventative maintenance activities to ensure building systems remain safe and operational.
• Responding to patient-related concerns and other maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Inspecting the environment of care and identifying potential safety hazards before they become issues.
• Supporting life safety initiatives, including fire boundary inspections and preventative maintenance of firefighting equipment.
• Utilizing work request systems to document tasks, maintain records, and track completed work.
• Coordinating and overseeing outside contractors to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with organizational standards.
• Contributing to a safe, comfortable, and healing environment for patients, visitors, and team members.
