Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assist the Maintenance Department with repairs.

The role uses a 6pm - 6am schedule (M, Tu, F, Sa, Su, W, Th). The technician will work nights and support various maintenance tasks across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair or maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control systems and welding.
• Ability to follow safety rules and regulations, including hazardous waste procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
• Assists in repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts per manuals and specs.
• Orders supplies and parts as required.
• Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities.
• Performs duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
• Keeps a clean and organized work area.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.

Schedule

6pm - 6am M, Tu, F, Sa, Su, W, Th

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building
• Assists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications
• Orders supplies and parts as required
• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled
• Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities
• Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
• If assigned to Treating Department, performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
• Prepares various reports as required
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
• Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
• Must be at least 18 years of age
