Job summary

Engineering Resource Group is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a permanent role at a food ingredient manufacturing plant in New Jersey. You will perform preventive, corrective and emergency repairs on process equipment, plant utilities and building systems.

You will work with spray drying, distillation, boilers, and HVAC, using CMMS to schedule work and ensuring OSHA and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Perform preventive, corrective and emergency repairs on process equipment, plant utilities and building systems.
• Maintain process equipment including spray dryers, blenders, mixers, distillation systems, fillers, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Maintain plant utilities including boilers, air compressors, water treatment, water heaters, HVAC and exhaust systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls including PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, relays and low/high voltage panels.
• Schedule and document maintenance work in CMMS and monitor HVAC performance through the building management system.
• Install and commission new equipment and support capital projects, coordinating with outside contractors.
• Maintain boiler inspection compliance and support GMP audits and safety training.

Job description

• Responsible for preventive, corrective and emergency repairs on process equipment, plant utilities and building systems.
• Maintain process equipment including spray dryers, powder blenders, mixers, extraction and distillation systems, fillers, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Maintain plant utilities including boilers, air compressors, water treatment, water heaters, HVAC and exhaust systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls including PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, relays and low/high voltage panels.
• Schedule and document all maintenance work in CMMS and monitor HVAC performance through the building management system.
• Install and commission new equipment and support capital projects, coordinating with outside contractors.
• Maintain boiler inspection compliance and support GMP audits and safety training.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting low and high voltage electrical control panels.
• Experience with CMMS.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and GMP requirements.
• Experience managing spending against a maintenance capital budget.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment.
• Experience in food, flavor or chemical processing a plus, especially spray drying, extraction and distillation.
• High pressure boiler operator license a plus.
