Job summary

Zentis North America, a leading fruit processing company with a Philadelphia facility, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 10pm–6am shift. You will ensure production equipment runs continuously, perform preventive maintenance, and handle building systems as needed.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical, PLC, and control systems, reading schematics, performing repairs in confined spaces and on roof equipment, and coordinating changes with maintenance management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production maintenance department.
• Experience with PLC systems and industrial controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring per NEC/state codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for electrical/control issues on production equipment.
• Perform PM tasks and maintenance on equipment and building systems.

Our manufacturing facility, located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, produces value added fruit and dairy preparations for a variety of customers including yogurt, ice cream and bakery manufacturers.

The position is for 3 rd shift 10pm – 6am.

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that production equipment is always running, for maintaining and performing PM tasks on production equipment and undertaking various mechanical tasks, as necessary.In addition, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining building equipment and any other miscellaneous duties as assigned. In this position you will be required to become a member of the Union.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide technicalassistancewhen electrical or control issues arise.Maintain and perform PM tasks on the Production Equipment.Assemble electrical or control systems and equipment according to applicable NEC and state/local codes using hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Build, calibrate,maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical / pneumatic / hydraulic / measuring devices / recording /indicatinginstruments or testing equipment.
• The ability to troubleshoot & understand PLC programs & the corresponding hardware.
• Assembly and test motor control devices (480 V and lower).
• Read electrical schematics. Must be able to install devices according to these schematics and troubleshoot issues for efficient and effective repairs.
• Will berequiredtoparticipatein confined space entries and repairs and make repairs on roof top equipment and bulk sugar silos.
• Perform equipment repairs in difficult,tight,and awkward areas. (Inside tanks, under and or on top of tanks and platforms).
• Must have a minimum basic welding and plumbing knowledge.
• Coordinate tasks and communicates all changes or improvements to equipment to maintenance manager and senior management.
• Be able to lift equipment and parts weighing up to 50 lbs.

Specific Experience and Key Knowledge Requirements

• Minimum of 3yearsofexperience in a production maintenance department.

Special Skills and Abilities Required

• Working knowledge of PLC and Siemens Allen Bradley control systems.
• Working knowledge with boilers and refrigeration systems.
• Must have working knowledge of the following topics: Temperature, pressure, AC and DC control methods, 24V – 480V electrical systems and troubleshooting, VFD’s, automated systems, load cells, control valves, blueprint reading, mathematics,preventive/predictive maintenance, PLC, and Motor Controls.
• Experience in computer skills: Excel, Outlook, SAP (Preferred) along with excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be a team player.
• Experience with suppliers, vendors, and working with various departments.
