Job summary

Twin City Foods, Inc. in Pasco seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to keep production lines running at full capacity.

You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair processing equipment across blanchers, cookers, chillers, mixers, conveyors, and related systems to ensure safe, efficient plant operations. This role requires 2+ years in manufacturing or food processing, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience maintaining mechanical systems in manufacturing or food processing.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, and water systems.
  • Familiarity with sanitary design and food-grade processing equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical diagrams, and OEM manuals.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on day shift with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or support emergency repairs as needed.
  • Willingness to work swing shift.
  • Selected employee will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and E-Verify*

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on processing equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, blanchers, steam systems, chillers).
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues to support production uptime.
  • Maintain compliance with RTE food safety standards (sanitary design, allergen control, cleaning procedures).
  • Support equipment changeovers, setups, calibrations per production schedules.
  • Collaborate with operators, sanitation, QA, and maintenance staff to address recurring issues.
  • Assist with installation, upgrades, and modifications of processing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Maintain CMMS documentation: work orders, parts, inspections, downtime.
  • Ensure lockout/tagout, PPE, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Participate in daily maintenance meetings and cross-shift communication.

What We’re Looking For

As Maintenance Mechanic at Twin City Foods’ facility, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent plant operations. This includes supporting a wide range of mechanical systems throughout production areas such as blanchers, cookers, chillers, mixers, conveyors, and other food processing machinery. Your work is critical in ensuring compliance with food safety standards, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all processing equipment, including pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, blanchers, steam systems, chillers, and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues quickly and effectively to support production uptime.
  • Maintain compliance with RTE food safety standards, including sanitary design, allergen control, and proper cleaning procedures.
  • Support equipment changeovers, setups, and calibrations as required by production schedules.
  • Collaborate with operators, sanitation, QA, and other maintenance staff to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Assist with installation, upgrades, and modifications of processing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the CMMS, including work orders, parts used, inspections performed, and downtime tracking.
  • Ensure proper lockout/tagout, PPE, and safety procedures are always followed.
  • Actively participate in daily maintenance meetings, cross-shift communication, and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience maintaining mechanical systems in a manufacturing or food processing environment; RTE facility experience preferred.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, and water systems.
  • Familiarity with sanitary design and food-grade processing equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical diagrams, and OEM manuals.
