Job summary

Lakeside Foods is seeking a Shift Maintenance Mechanic to install, maintain, and repair vegetable processing, water supply, and waste-disposal equipment to support continuous plant operations.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and 10+ years of related experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, pipefitting, bearing installation, vibration pumps, and GMPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years of related mechanical experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install food-processing machinery and related systems.
• Perform maintenance work with minimal supervision.
• Assist the shift electrician as needed.
• Support and comply with Plant Safety and Food Safety Programs.
• Maintain equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

The Shift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing vegetable processing, water supply, and waste‑disposal equipment to support continuous plant operations. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and broad experience across multiple mechanical disciplines.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install food‑processing machinery and related systems
• Perform maintenance work with minimal supervision
• Assist the shift electrician as needed
• Support and comply with all Plant Safety and Food Safety Programs
• Maintain equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• 10 or more years of related mechanical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of:

• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Power transmission systems
• Pipe and tube fitting
• Bearing installation, replacement, and lubrication
• Vibratory equipment and pumps
• Precision alignment and measurement
