Job summary

JLL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in New York, NY to keep client facilities running at peak performance. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, diagnose issues, and implement repairs while prioritizing safety.

You will document work in CMMS, collaborate with management and vendors, and ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, scaffolds, and in confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, tenants, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal building performance.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, diagnosing problems and implementing solutions.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify potential issues.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment records in CMMS.
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and team members to coordinate repairs with minimal disruption.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you'll play a vital role in keeping our client facilities running at peak performance. You'll be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of building systems and equipment, ensuring operational excellence and tenant satisfaction. This hands‑on position requires technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to safety. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal building performance
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems
• Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment service records in computerized maintenance management systems
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other team members to coordinate repairs and ensure minimal disruption to building operations
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies while performing maintenance tasks
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance building efficiency and reliability

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent certification
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related field
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, scaffolds, and in confined spaces
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, tenants, and team members

Preferred qualifications:

• EPA Universal Certification or other relevant technical certifications
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• OSHA safety training or equivalent certifications
• Experience in commercial real estate or corporate facilities
• Basic welding, carpentry, or specialized trade skills

Expected compensation for this position:

59,400.00 - 59,400.00 USD per year

Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
