About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a high performing team in Minneapolis, MN. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventative, and emergency maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and take appropriate measures to resolve equipment problems.
• Repair and maintain presses, folders, cutters, die cutters, stitchers, collators, rewinders, and other production equipment.
• Monitor recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend solutions to prevent future issues.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding repair schedules, production delays, emergency breakdowns, and issues requiring additional support.
• Perform electrical repairs within the scope of knowledge and experience.
• Conduct preventative maintenance activities in coordination with machine operators and production crews.
• Support the safe design, installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure equipment and maintenance activities comply with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate safety precautions and equipment requirements to coworkers and provide training on the proper use of protective equipment when necessary.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as needed to support production requirements.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills, including whole numbers and fractions.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures.

Preferred

• Experience with machine shop fundamentals, including:
• Welding
• Milling
• Lathes
• Precision measurement tools
• At least two years of specialized training in plumbing and/or electrical fundamentals.
• Experience maintaining printing presses; KBA experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, materials, and manufacturing operations.
• Ability to anticipate potential equipment problems and proactively address them.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing and walking.
• Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Primarily an on-site position with no regular travel required.

Pay Range: $30–$40/hour
