Mechanic – Nucor Steel Marion

Division: Nucor Steel Marion, Inc.
Location: Marion, OH, United States
Potential annual income: $90K‑$130K, including a weekly production bonus

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade all types of production equipment.
• Apply knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmissions, water systems, welding, machining, and pipe fitting.
• Complete process improvement projects and provide mechanical support to operations.
• Work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
• Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles.
• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Welding experience: MIG, TIG, ARC, and stainless‑steel welding techniques.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial or military mechanical maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2‑year or 4‑year degree in mechanical or related field.
• Experience maintaining overhead cranes.
• Advanced training or certifications in mechanical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge and experience with preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Prior steel industry experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Experience operating forklifts and/or other mobile equipment.
