Mechanic – Nucor Steel Marion
Division: Nucor Steel Marion, Inc.
Location: Marion, OH, United States
Potential annual income: $90K‑$130K, including a weekly production bonus
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade all types of production equipment.
- Apply knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmissions, water systems, welding, machining, and pipe fitting.
- Complete process improvement projects and provide mechanical support to operations.
- Work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
- Welding experience: MIG, TIG, ARC, and stainless‑steel welding techniques.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial or military mechanical maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2‑year or 4‑year degree in mechanical or related field.
- Experience maintaining overhead cranes.
- Advanced training or certifications in mechanical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge and experience with preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Prior steel industry experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Experience operating forklifts and/or other mobile equipment.
