Job summary

CMC is seeking a hands-on industrial maintenance professional in Lexington, SC. You’ll support construction reinforcement and steel product operations, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs to keep plants running efficiently.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, fabrication, and strong problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work overtime are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
• Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
• Valid driver's license
• Welding, cutting, and fabrication skills

• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completions, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs when needed
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Prepares and maintains accurate records of services and repairs
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Communicates effectively with co-workers and customers in a positive manner

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failures
• Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification
• Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneeling
• Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment
• Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
• Valid drivers license
• Welding, cutting, and fabrication skills
