Job summary

UFP Industries in Lafayette, CO is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools. You will assist the Maintenance Department in various machine and building repairs, following diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of maintenance/repair experience, with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, control systems, and welding.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of machine repair experience in maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hazardous waste/material handling procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
  • Assists in repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts.
  • Orders supplies and parts as required.
  • Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities.
  • Adheres to safety rules and procedures and keeps a clean, organized work area.
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building
  • Assists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications
  • Orders supplies and parts as required
  • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled
  • Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
  • If assigned to Treating Department, performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Prepares various reports as required
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $20-25 hourly dependent on experience*

  • pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living
Bonus/Incentive Pay (appropriate item below would be inserted based on the job)

For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
