Job description

Multiple positions available with the Conventions & Entertainment Facilities Department, Facility Maintenance Division located at 301 W. 13th St.

Salary Range: $22.61-$34.48/hour

Normal Work Days/Hours:

  1. Position I: Wednesday-Saturday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  2. Position II: Sunday-Wednesday, 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  3. Position III: Wednesday-Saturday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  4. Position IV: Wednesday-Saturday, 2:00 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

Responsibilities
  • Applies skills generally of a journeyman level in several different crafts, particularly in mechanical and electrical, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and machinery maintenance.
  • Performs a full range of duties related to event, show, and facility set-up including installation, repairs, and maintenance of equipment used in the operation of the Convention facilities including basketball floors, operable walls, retractable risers, fencing, and utility carts.
  • Maintains and operates snow removal equipment, forklifts, man lifts, and loaders.
  • Operates computer automated building controls for lighting and HVAC.
Qualifications

REQUIRES two years of experience as a skilled worker in building and mechanical repair work in a relevant trade (HVAC, boilers, hydraulics, pumps, and motors). An additional related technical education certificate or diploma may be substituted for one year of experience. Must possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. May be required to obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Class A, B, or C issued by the State of Missouri prior to the end of the employee's probationary period (Appropriate CDL will be determined by the department). Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
