Sun Chemical is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine, emergency and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities. The role includes reading blueprints, servicing pumps and HVAC systems, and assisting with safety inspections.

A strong mechanical/electrical background and high school diploma are required. The position emphasizes adherence to OSHA regulations, proper waste disposal, and safe operation of tools.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Our Maintenance Mechanic Performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance
• Work on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities
• Assist in maintaining plant security
• Maintain work area, equipment and tools
• Dispose of waste per company policies
• Assist in plant Self Safety and ASI inspections
• Assist in general plant cleaning and general appearance
• Comply with all OSHA required activities for PIT
• Operate floor scrubber
• Must perform up to 60% of procedures within department
• Comply with all company/department safety rules and procedures

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma/GED
• Ability to read blue prints, sketches and equipment manuals
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring and general mechanics
• Must be experienced in all facets of maintenance - mechanical, electrical, building, & vehicle repair.
• Experience with pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal) drives: gearbox, belts, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies
• Electrical: High voltage 460 volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage.
• Piping (water and steam)
• Boilers – understand steam condensate system –tracing, coils, traps, and pumps.
• Air compressor system- including filters regulators, dryers, and lubricators.
• HVAC – general knowledge
• Lift truck- electric EE rated, battery and hydraulics
• Strong math aptitude
