Sun Chemical in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine, emergency and preventive maintenance on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities.

You will read blueprints, work with pumps, boilers, HVAC, air compressors, and lifts, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Our Maintenance Mechanic Performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Ability to read blue prints, sketches and equipment manuals
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring and general mechanics
• Must be experienced in all facets of maintenance - mechanical, electrical, building, & vehicle repair.
• Experience with pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal) drives: gearbox, belts, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies
• Piping (water and steam)
• Boilers – understand steam condensate system –tracing, coils, traps, and pumps.
• Air compressor system- including filters regulators, dryers, and lubricators.
• HVAC – general knowledge
• Lift truck- electric EE rated, battery and hydraulics
• Strong math aptitude
