Job summary

B&G Foods in Maryland is seeking a maintenance technician with a minimum of three years in a manufacturing setting. You will dismantle, repair, and reassemble machines, test components, and document work orders. Welding skills (MIG/TIG/ARC) and forklift operation are essential.

You will use CMMS and scheduling concepts to coordinate repairs, ensuring safe operations and compliance with food safety policies. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to dismantle, repair, and reassemble machines and parts.
  • Proficient welding skills (MIG/TIG/ARC) and SS fabrication.
  • Familiar with CMMS/RCM systems and basic scheduling concepts.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to use PPE properly.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair.
  • Inspect or test damaged parts and advise on repairs.
  • Install or replace machine parts per specifications.
  • Lubricate equipment and apply materials as required.
  • Reassemble machines after maintenance work.
  • Start machines and monitor operation for efficiency and issues.
  • Complete Work Orders and document in system; coordinate with Parts.
  • Collaborate with teammates to move/repair equipment.
  • Work overtime as required and follow safety policies.

Candidates must have a three (3) year min. maintenance background in a manufacturing environment and:

  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs – troubleshooting.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
  • Complete assigned Work Orders and document accordingly. Return to Parts Department for closure.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Understand working Overtime will be required.
  • Perform duties while working safely – awareness/identification of hazards, ensuring proper PPE is worn, maintaining a clutter free work area, following safety procedures and polices (ex. LO/TO, Confined Space, Right To Know, Fall Protection, etc.)
  • Report unsafe acts and unsafe working conditions to supervision/management.
  • Ensure food safety/quality polices are followed, to report all food safety/quality problems out of his/her realm of responsibility to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
  • Ensure a good safe wholesome product is produced safely.
  • Must be able to weld (MIG, TIG, ARC & Oxy/acetylene and SS fabrication)
  • Must be able to operate forklift and aerial lifts (genie boom, scissors lift)
  • Knowledge of boiler operations (a plus)
  • Knowledge of CMMS, RCM & scheduling heuristics
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook) (a plus)

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • 3-year minimum maintenance experience, preferably industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to weld, prefer MIG, TIG, ARC, & Oxy/acetylene and SS fabrication.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems to include chain and gear drives, gear boxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of 3 phase electrical systems and pneumatic systems.
Compensation

Base Pay Range:
$15.15 - $25.44

Final base pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to; role responsibilities, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and/or internal pay equity. Please keep in mind that we consider internal pay equity and hiring at the maximum of the salary range uncommon.
