Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic in Gastonia, NC. The role involves dismantling and repairing machines, maintaining components, and performing welding or pipe work as needed.

The position offers pay $30.00–$35.00 per hour, with shifts Monday–Friday 2 PM–10:30 PM or 10 PM–6:30 AM. This is a direct hire opportunity with a focus on safe, reliable equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 4 years of maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Familiarity with TIG welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dismantling machines or equipment, replacing defective parts and motors, and adjusting feed mechanisms.
• Cleans and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
• Replace or repair machine belts.
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
• Paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
• Bend, cut, and thread pipe, cut openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seal pipe joints with sealing compound.
• Assemble, reconfigure, or move parts for workstations and other furnishings.
• Patch or replace plasterboard and paint walls, ceilings, and trim of the building.
• Clear clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures.
• Operate a welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Clean work area, tools, and equipment.
• Operate forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts as required.
• Perform other routine duties as necessary.
