Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a contract-to-hire role in Clifton, NJ. You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance on extrusion equipment, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and extruders to keep lines in optimal condition.

Responsibilities include lift truck maintenance, routine servicing, troubleshooting, and replacing motor brushes and seals. On-site, with full-time hours and a pay range of $27–$30 per hour.

• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Pay: $27 - $30

Location: Clifton, NJ

Job Description

This role involves both preventative and reactive maintenance of extrusion machines, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and extruders. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for following PM schedules and ensuring that production lines and all related equipment are kept in optimal operating condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform lift truck maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct routine maintenance and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during normal operations.
• Change DC electric motor brushes, pump seals, and bearings.

Essential Skills

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical components in industrial manufacturing machinery.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
• Steel fabrication work experience.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure, micrometer, dial indicator, feeler gauge, calipers, and amp/volt meter.
• Experience with MIG and stick welding, as well as using an acetylene torch.
• PLC troubleshooting is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
