Givaudan is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in East Hanover, NJ to perform routine repairs and installation of process equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to site operations. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills in welding, pipefitting, basic millwright work, electrical and instrumentation, with SAP data entry for compliance and production records.
The incumbent will read electrical schematics, P&ID and PFD diagrams, maintain inventory, and uphold GMP and OSHA standards.
Pay Rate:$34.53/hr + 12% shift differential
To perform the routine repairs and installation of equipment in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to site operations.
Minimum Education/Experience/Skills/Job Knowledge/:
High School diploma or equivalent with 3-4 years previous general mechanical experience in pipefitting, welding, or pump and equipment repair is required. Must possess mechanical ability, an electrical aptitude and vocational or trade school certificates or diplomas relating to a minimum of one craft within welding, plumbing, pipefitting or electrical areas.Must be certified to operate a forklift.Computer skills are preferred. Must be willing to cross-train in other specialized crafts within Maintenance department. Dependability, effective communication skills, ability to follow instructions, good attendance and willingness to work overtime are essential.

May be exposed to dirty, wet or odorous conditions. May work in climatic weather changes, various height or underground levels while operating in confined spaces or in shored ditches which may be six feet or more below ground level. May be required to participate in Medical Testing Program or Hazardous Materials training.
Poor repairs or failure to comply with safety practices may lead to injury of self or others. Errors in repairs may result in customer delays or dissatisfaction.
Requires frequent standing, walking and climbing a ladder (up to 30 feet). May be required to maneuver equipment up to 100 lbs and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Must be able to crouch, bend, and twist to work on various equipment in various settings. Ability to use heavy power tools, including vibrational tools is essential. Working outside in adverse climate conditions is required, this can include, but is not limited to hot, humid, cold, or wet situations.
Power tools, welders, ladders, and standard tools are utilized frequently. Computer is used on a daily basis.
No direct supervisory responsibilities; however, must be a team player. Reporting observation of non-compliant or unsafe situations to supervisor or EH&S manager as required.
Based on knowledge and experience makes judgment calls and takes immediate action for basic repairs and response to alarm conditions in accordance with documented procedures.
