Overview

Virbac Animal Health seeks a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join the Maintenance Team located in Bridgeton, MO. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on packaging equipment, mixing equipment, compression equipment, and building systems to support animal health manufacturing.

Production Machinery

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
• Perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine shutdowns.
• Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of pharmaceutical packaging and production line machines.
• Electrical skills include AC/DC theory & analysis, power distribution, motor and machine control circuits, familiarity with PLCs.
• Mechanical skills include pump and gearbox repair, millwright practices, sheetmetal work, pipefitting, and welding.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to ensure correct maintenance and service.
• Ensure reliable and safe operation of machinery and equipment.

Preventive Maintenance

• Perform detailed equipment inspections based on preventative maintenance procedures.
• Maintain legible records of maintenance activities.
• Use electrical and calibration testing equipment.
• Reduce downtime of equipment and production machinery.

Facilities and Facility Equipment

• Repair, modify, construct, fabricate, install, and maintain building structures and equipment.
• Maintain working knowledge of building codes.
• Understand facility equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handling systems, etc.
• Limit downtime of infrastructure equipment.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in Kaizen events.
• Support 5S projects.
• Create a sustainability culture.

Safety

• Participate in safety-related groups.
• Identify possible safety hazards.
• Create a safety culture.

Qualifications
