Quercus Forest Products is a contractor for Domtar, providing services to meet Domtar's expectations in the art of chipping.
The millwright's role is to maintain all mechanical and hydraulic systems in the chip mill to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operation.
The millwright is responsible for minimizing downtime by inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mill systems and assisting personnel to increase production through fabrication of various devices.
Must be able to manage maintenance tasks, climb into small spaces, see, hear, and feel mechanical system statuses, climb ladders up to 150 feet, lift objects up to 100 pounds, and communicate via radio.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of electrical, air, and hydraulic lockout procedures, mechanical principles, troubleshooting, welding, and proper use of tools. Skills include troubleshooting by sensory perception and fabricating devices without prints or drawings.
Approximately one month of on-the-job training is provided, especially for those with prior experience.
