Job summary

TurbineAero is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform HVAC services and general facility upkeep across multiple locations in the valley. The role requires reading technical manuals, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities include installing and repairing HVAC systems, operating within EPA guidelines for hazardous waste, and coordinating with the Senior Maintenance Tech to ensure continuous operation of all equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or assoc. degree preferred.
• 2–5 years HVAC service/maintenance experience; aerospace/heavy industrial background is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings; basic HVAC, plumbing and electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and operation of water treatment system.
• Handle hazardous waste packaging, storage, and EPA-compliant manifesting.
• Use Tennant floor scrubber to clean 70,000 sq ft monthly.
• Read blueprints and building specifications; install HVAC systems per specs.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace defective components with diagnostic tools.
• Follow safety standards and work under Sr. Maintenance Tech or supervisor.
• Must have valid driver's license and insure vehicle to visit three valley locations.

Description

This position requires extensive knowledge of specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with and understanding both general and specific phases of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.

Duties:

• General maintenance of buildings and offices at TurbineAero.
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Work with the Preventive Maintenance System.
• Responsible for the cleanliness and continuous operation of water treatment system
• Responsible for shop hazardous waste pick up.
• Responsible for shop hazardous waste packaging per EPA requirements
• Responsible for shop hazardous waste onsite storage per EPA requirements.
• Responsible for shop hazardous waste manifesting for shipment per EPA requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring HS&E representative schedules hazardous waste shipments within EPA time limits after packaging.
• Responsible for ensuring 70,000 sq ft of shop floor is cleaned with Tennant Floor Scrubber the 1st week of every month at a minimum.
• Responsible for identifying unsafe conditions found anywhere on the property to the Director of Maintenance.
• Maintenance: Performing preventive maintenance such as cleaning filters and coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting ductwork, and calibrating thermostats
• Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing system malfunctions, repairing or replacing defective components, and using specialized diagnostic tools to resolve issues
• Installation: Setting up HVAC systems according to blueprints and building specifications, connecting units to electrical, plumbing, and ductwork systems, and ensuring compliance with local codes and safety standards.
• Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing system malfunctions, repairing or replacing defective components, and using specialized diagnostic tools to resolve issues
• Must possess or secure required proper hand tools.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

• Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision on basic and preventative maintenance.
• Work with and under the direction of the Sr. Maintenance Tech and/or supervisor on projects.
• Requires a valid driver's license & proof of insurance as you will be required to drive to three locations in the valley

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Technical trade school, apprenticeship, or Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Experience: HVAC Certification 2-5 years Performing HVAC Services & Repairs and other facilities and equipment maintenance as assigned.
• 2 – 5 of hands-on maintenance experience in aerospace, heat treating, or heavy industrial environments. hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience specifically with vacuum and/or gas-fired industrial furnaces.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work under adverse conditions.
