Job summary

WeDriveU is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead fleet maintenance for a large passenger-vehicle operation. You will plan, schedule, and review all maintenance with in-house teams and external providers while monitoring costs and performance.

The role oversees regulatory inspections and roadside support for the fleet. Applicants should bring at least 5 years of fleet management experience, vendor coordination, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing fixed route or paratransit fleets.
  • Experience with 70+ buses and maintaining a qualified maintenance program.
  • ASE L3 or equivalent certifications related to vehicle operations preferred.
  • Experience with EV-specific systems and ongoing staff training.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will report directly to the Director of Maintenance and will be responsible for the management and coordination of maintenance for a fleet of commercial passenger vehicles. The Maintenance Manager will own the scheduling and review of all vehicle maintenance with in-house and 3rd party maintenance providers, while reviewing all repair details and costs. Included with the maintenance will be control of roadside response efforts and overseeing of all regulatory compliance inspections of the organizations fleet.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements.
  • Oversee and comply with local WeDriveU maintenance and safety SOPs, locally

applicable public authority legislation, regulation and standards, ensuring that maintenance staff follow them

  • Utilize and supervise the local use of WeDriveU EAM (Enterprise Asset

Management) ERP application, and maintenance facility staff to record and to track local maintenance work orders and parts inventory.

  • Manage preventive maintenance and “unscheduled” repairs for the vehicles

serviced by this facility.

  • Represent the maintenance activity at the local level in its interaction,

communication and coordination of activities with other local operations functions: driver care, route operations, and customer care

  • Supervise the maintenance staff.
Skills Required And Physical Demands
  • Minimum five years of recent experience managing fixed route or paratransit fleet; experience maintaining a fleet of 70 buses or more; experience developing, implementing and maintaining a qualified maintenance program; experience with Eldorado or equivalent paratransit or fixed route buses; and completion of Automotive Service Excellence certifications (A1-A9, H8) or equivalent manufacturer training and certifications related to Pace vehicle operations is preferred but not required. Must employ and continuously train staff in EV-specific systems and be certified to ASE L3 standards.
  • Experience with compliance with the local applicable DOT compliance of Med /

Heavy Trucks

  • Prefer ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or a Master

Truck Technician

  • Microsoft Office with robust experience in Excel
  • Strong electronic filing, documentation tracking and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and consistent formatting.
  • Self-Motivated and driven problem solver
  • Multiple years’ experience in transportation, encourage passenger

transportation history

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work experience with mechanical background and aptitude
  • Additional skills and physical demands may apply
Education And Qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience with fleet management company
  • Diesel Engine Repair experience.
  • 5 years of Cummins Engine Repair
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance, Logistics, and/or
  • CDL not required but preferred.
